Upstream Tech and Chloris Geospatial Partner to Accelerate Access to Forest Carbon Data

Chloris Geospatial’s forest carbon data is coming to Lens, Upstream Tech's product for landscape monitoring, enabling users to access  cutting-edge global forest carbon data anywhere on earth.

We’re excited to announce that Chloris Geospatial’s cutting-edge forest carbon data will soon be available in Lens, enabling users to easily access carbon and forest data across the globe.

At Chloris, our mission is to empower organizations to assess, monitor, and invest in forest conservation and restoration. Our data provides critical insights on above-ground biomass change and stock, forest cover, and more, dating back to 2000. By making this data available in Lens, users can quantify emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, monitor gains from reforestation projects, and track year-over-year changes in carbon storage and distribution—anywhere on Earth.

Key features of the data include:

  • Annual data on aboveground biomass carbon stock and forest cover – Provides consistent, year-over-year data for accurate tracking and reporting.

  • High-resolution options at 30m and 10m – Choose the spatial resolution that best fits your project needs.

  • Long-term time series – Access data dating back to 2000 for 30m resolution and 2017 for 10m.

  • Dynamic, wall-to-wall carbon data coverage – Comprehensive global datasets that capture changes in biomass.

  • Quantified uncertainty at the pixel level – Gain confidence with uncertainty details included in every download.

  • Cost-effective data access – Purchase only the data you need, with no minimum area requirements, ensuring efficiency.

  • Flexible sharing and download options – Download data directly from Lens or share interactive maps with partners to facilitate collaboration.

Whether you’re a project developer, investor, or corporate buyer, this data unlocks a new level of visibility across landscapes, enabling better project diligence, implementation, and long-term monitoring.

"We're proud to partner with Chloris Geospatial, a leader in forest carbon measurement from space, to make this critical data more accessible than ever. By integrating their advanced datasets into Lens, we're empowering organizations to take faster, more informed action to protect and restore forests.,” said Abby Smith, Head of Product.

“Partnering with Upstream Tech  marks a significant step forward for Chloris Geospatial in making forest carbon data accessible and actionable for everyone,” said Marco Albani, CEO and Co-Founder of Chloris Geospatial. “By combining our advanced, science-backed carbon data with the user-friendly Lens platform, we’re empowering more organizations to accelerate and scale their climate action”.
